Overview: Connection Profiles

Connection Profiles help you define connection credentials for hosts by:
  • Adding a new connection profile that associates selected hosts with iDRAC and OMSAAgent credentials
  • Displaying or editing a current connection profile
  • Deleting a connection profile
  • Refreshing connection profile list to reflect changes in the vCenter
Caution: Passwords used in iDRAC and OMSAAgent credentials must not exceed 31 characters.

Tasks

You can Add a New Profile to the connection profile list.

 

To view or edit an existing connection profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Edit/View. The Connection Profile: profile name pop-up window displays.
  3. Select the profile section you want to display or change:
    • Profile Name and Description: rename profile or change description.
    • Associated Hosts: hosts using connection profiles.
    • iDRAC Credentials: deployment user name and password.
    • OMSAAgent Credentials: hardware configuration user name and password.
  4. Click Save to apply changes, click Cancel to eliminate changes
  5. Repeat last two steps for each part of the connection profile.
  6. Click X (upper-right corner) to close the Connection Profile: profile name pop-up window.
To delete a connection profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. When the cautionary message displays, click Delete to remove the profile or click Cancel to retain it.
To display all updated connection profiles:
  1. Click Refresh.
Note: If a host is removed from the vCenter, the host is removed from the connection profile.
