Overview: Hypervisor Profiles

Hypervisor Profiles help you define a virtualization software configuration by:
  • Creating a new hypervisor profile from a reference ISO image and vCenter settings
  • Displaying or editing a current hypervisor profile
  • Duplicating an existing model hypervisor profile to customize the location of a reference ISO file or settings
  • Renaming a hardware profile
  • Deleting a hypervisor profile

Tasks

You can Create a New hypervisor profile and add it to the display list.

 

To view or edit an existing hypervisor profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Edit/View. The Hypervisor Profile: profile name pop-up window displays.
  3. Select the profile section you want to display or change:
    • Profile Name and Description: rename profile or change the description.
    • Reference ISO: change the ISO image name, user access, or type
    • vCenter Settings: Instance, Destination, Host Profile, and user access.
  4. Click Save to apply changes, click Cancel to eliminate changes.
  5. Repeat last two steps for each part of the hypervisor profile.
  6. Click X (upper-right corner) to close the Hypervisor Profile: profile name pop-up.
To duplicate a hypervisor profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Duplicate. The Duplicate pop-up displays.
  3. Enter a unique hypervisor profile name.
  4. Click Apply to save the duplicate profile, click Cancel abandon the operation.
To rename a hypervisor profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Rename. The Rename Profile pop-up displays.
  3. Enter a unique hypervisor profile name.
  4. Click Apply to use the new name, click Cancel retain the old name.
To delete a hypervisor profile:
  1. Select a profile with the mouse.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. When the cautionary message displays, click Delete to remove the profile or click Cancel to retain it.

Caution: Deleting a hypervisor profile committed to scheduled deployment jobs, can cause the deployment jobs to fail.

 

 

To display updated hypervisor profiles:

  1. Click Refresh.
