Overview: Log

The Log helps you isolate critical virtualization problems by displaying plug-in events based on:
  • Severity - Info, warning, error, and security
  • Date range - select period or custom start and stop date
  • Search text - specific message, server names, configuration setting, and so forth
You can save the plug-in log to an external CSV-formatted file.

Tasks

Methods to limit (filter) the number of :
  • Click Filter: and select All Categories, Info, Warning, Error, or Security.
  • Click Duration drop down list to select Last week, Last Month, Last Year, or Custom Range.
    If the Start Date and Stop Date display:
    1. Click calendar wizard to populate Start date.
    2. Click calendar wizard to populate End date.
    3. Click Apply to restrict log events to Start date/End date range.
Standard events display controls:
  • Entries per page: Set to 50, 100, 250, or 1000 events
  • Go to desireed page number of the log
  • Forward and Backward page controls
  • Click Refesh to update log with most recent events.
To export the entire Log contents to a comma-separated value (CSV) file:
  1. Click Export.
  2. When the Save Log As pop-up displays, click Save As
  3. Provide a location and a name for exported file. Default name is PluginLog.csv
  4. Click Save to download entire log to a local file.
