Want to know the ins-n-outs of the College Application process as a homeschooler? We will start with a little about dual credit, then move to the documents we produce as homeschoolers and what material you need to cover. Next we discuss CommonApp versus ApplyTexas, as well as Financial Aid (FAFSA versus CSS Profile, IDOCS, etc.) and wrap up with your questions. We'll take a mental break (3:00) with some snacks (feel free to bring some to share!) and informal questions.
Along the way we will share some of the 'gotchas' we learned the hard way, like "Does it matter which eMail address your Recommender uses?" and "Does it matter if we attend all those College Fairs and dog-and-pony presentations since they all say the same thing?" Spoiler: the answer to both is a resounding "Yes!".

Parents and *students who are Juniors and Sophomores* are most important since your process begins now.
It's also helpful for parents who are planning a high-school experience for their students with an eye toward college.
When you are 18 or older, there are some things your parents cannot do for you without breaking Federal law. (Yes, I'm serious.)
College admission people give preference to *informed* questions from students. Parental involvement can actually hurt your chances.
