This configuration setting defines the HTTP Proxy and any required credentials to retrieve information from the Internet (including Dell online). These settings help you:

• Enable or disable the proxy server for accessing Internet information
• Specify the Proxy Server and Port Number needed
• Define any required credentials - User name and Password

Click Test Connectivity to test the proxy configuration settings.

Caution: Passwords for proxy credentials must not exceed 31 characters.

To configure the HTTP proxy:

1. Click Edit.
2. Enter a DNS-resolved host name or IP address for Proxy Server Address.
3. Enter Proxy Port number.
4. Select Credentials Required check box if needed.
   Enter user name and password.
• Proxy User Name
• Proxy Password
• Verify Password must match Proxy Password
5. Click Apply to retain new settings.

1. Select Use Proxy check box.
2. Click Test Connection to validate settings.
3. Click Apply.
